This song is dedicated to our elders past. I like to imagine those who have gone before us walking down a wide street in a motley parade. It soon gives way to a freewheeling conversation with all the horns improvising, reminiscing a mood based on a shared celebration. Even though it’s completely instrumental, it feels like a song. Musically it’s based on African traditions but is riffing on a 7/4 groove with a few time changes mixed in. I hope you hear the voices of our ancestors. Please enjoy Ancestor Dance
